The Connection Between Art and Mindfulness - the Creative Brain
In this session, you'll explore how your creativity, mindfulness and being engaged in the moment benefits you as a whole. You may have noticed that you feel a bit better after you've spent time being creative, walking the dog, pottering in the garden and wondered why. The science behind what happens to the brain will be discussed and you'll find out more about why creativity can be even more beneficial than you may have previously thought.

The session will be led by local artist and experienced art teacher Sue Mills, where you'll participate in practical activities (beginners and experienced creatives are most welcome), explore how art is a tool for mindfulness, what mindfulness actually means and the benefits to you. You may have tried zentangle, neurographic art or mandala art - some techniques have been around for a very long time - so the benefits may have been known, subconsciously at first, throughout history of humans being creative. Science can now tell us more.
